Do you want a little bit of heaven or a lot of heaven?
There are two kingdoms colliding in our world, the kingdom of heaven and the kingdom of hell. Both have an access point. For heaven, the access point is the faith through the Holy Spirit, for hell the access point is the flesh.
If you live by the flesh a little bit you are allowing a little bit of hell to remain in you. If you live by the Spirit a little bit than you are allowing a little bit of heaven in you.
I think it’s worth noting that any amount of heaven coming into your life is worth celebrating! But why settle for a little if we can have a lot?! Especially when Jesus told the disciples to pray “Our father in Heaven, hallowed by your name. Your kingdom come and your will be done on earth as it is in heaven…” (See Matthew 6:9-10). Clearly it was in the Fathers heart to make the earth look more like heaven through believers. Jesus was teaching the disciples how to come into agreement with their new Father and His plan for the earth.
Hope is the anchor
The weight of little things is a lot heavier than we realize. Little things are always tied to bigger things. Jesus said in Luke 16:10 that, “One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much, and one who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much.” Often we equate this scripture with finances, but this is true for every part of our lives. When we responded to the voice of Holy Spirit in the little things we invite a lot more of heaven to fill our lives. When we responded to the voice of the flesh in the little things we invite a lot more of hell in our lives.
Life is always speaking to us through our circumstances, trials, ups, and downs. But life is not meant to be our teacher. Jesus is. Whenever life is teaching me, rather than Jesus, the end result will be anchored to death and decay. Without realizing it we strap ourselves onto a zip-line that is anchored to the enemies plan to steal, kill and destroy.
Breaking free from that anchor comes from knowing the truth about who God is and who you were created to be in Christ.
Being trained by the Holy Spirit is where truth and freedom become our reality. Apart from the Holy Spirit the best we get is religion, which actually makes the zip-line steeper. One key to staying connected to the Holy Spirit is being anchored in hope. God’s voice will always speak with the resounding call to hope. Thats why hope is the anchor to our faith! In Hebrews 6:19-20 it says, “We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, where our forerunner, Jesus, has entered on our behalf.” Did you catch that?! Jesus went before us so He could become our anchor into the inner sanctuary of the presence of God.
We literally have access to heaven on earth because Jesus went before us. The reason Jesus sent the Holy Spirit was to create a conduit for us to receive the full inheritance of Christ while we still live on earth. Faith rooted in hope is the access point for heaven! Today can be a new day for you to raise your level of expectation. When you shift your mindset from circumstances to hope its like transferring from a zip-line headed for hell, to a gondola heading for heaven.
“Perfect peace doesn’t come from perfect circumstances. Perfect peace is the result of knowing your right standing with God through Jesus Christ. Jesus wasn’t crucified so you could have peace with men, He was crucified so you could have peace with God!”
